17.07.2024 | Offers

Flow pack, also known as flow packaging, is an advanced packaging technology that is gaining popularity across industries. With its versatility, efficiency, and aesthetics is becoming the number one choice for manufacturers looking to meet growing consumer expectations and stringent quality standards. In this article, we will take a closer look at what flow pack is, what its benefits are, and how it is used across various industry sectors.

What is Flow Pack?

Flow pack is a packaging method in which products are wrapped in foil and then sealed in a way that ensures tightness and protection against external factors. This process is carried out using specialized packaging machines that automatically form, fill and close the package. The foil used for flow pack can be made of various materials, including polypropylene, polyester or multilayer laminates, which allows the packaging to be adapted to the specific needs of the product.

Advantages of Flow Pack

1. Freshness and Protection: One of the most important advantages of flow pack is the ability to maintain the freshness of products. Thanks to the tight closure, products are protected from moisture, air and contamination, which extends their shelf life.

2. Efficiency and Speed: Flow pack is an extremely effective packaging method that allows for the quick packaging of large quantities of products. Automation of the process reduces the need for manual work and reduces operating costs.

3. Aesthetics and Presentation: Flow pack packaging is aesthetic and can be personalized by printing graphics, logos or product information on the foil. Thanks to this, products look attractive on store shelves, attracting the attention of consumers.

4. Versatility: Flow pack can be used to pack a wide range of products, from food to medical and industrial products. Flexibility in the selection of packaging materials allows for optimal adjustment of the packaging to the characteristics of the product.

Flow Pack Applications

Food Industry

Flow pack is widely used in the food industry to pack products such as cookies, chocolates, bars, bread, fruit and vegetables. The tight packaging protects food from losing freshness, and the possibility of printing on the film allows for the placement of visually attractive labels that help distinguish the product on the market.

Pharmacy and Medicine

In the pharmaceutical industry, it is used to pack medicines, dietary supplements, and medical equipment. Ensuring sterility and protection against contamination is crucial in this sector, and flow pack meets these requirements, while offering ease of opening and use.

Cosmetic Industry

Cosmetics and body care products, such as creams, masks, soaps, can also be packed using flow pack technology. Aesthetic packaging with a printed logo and product information helps build a brand and attract customers.

Electronics Industry

Small electronic components, such as batteries, cables or computer parts, are packed using flow pack, which provides protection against moisture, dust and mechanical damage. Additionally, the ability to store these products in handy packaging facilitates logistics and distribution.

Flow Pack Packaging Process

The flow pack packaging process can be divided into several key stages:

1. Product Feeding: Products are automatically fed onto the conveyor belt of the packaging machine.
2. Foil Forming: The foil is unrolled from a roll and formed into a tunnel that surrounds the product.
3. Filling and Sealing: The product is fed into the foil tunnel, and then the foil is sealed using thermal or ultrasonic welding. A label can also be printed at this stage.
4. Cutting: The finished package is cut from the rest of the foil, creating individual packages.
